FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) for Managers

Q: I would like to get my property more involved in the e-learning program, but I'm not sure where to start.

A: If you are not already familiar with the e-learning program, you should take the time to familiarize yourself by visiting the home page of www.lkqu.com for more information on how to use the program as a learner. Then visit the manager's page to view the step by step tutorials on how to add learners to the e-learning system, enroll learners into various courses and later run reports to see how your learners are doing. You should also encourage existing learners to browse the "course catalog" on their personalized e-learning campus home page to see what courses are available to them.

Q: I am trying to enroll individuals who do not have company email addresses. Can I still create accounts for them using different Learner IDs?

A: Yes. Learners who do not have email addresses should be given an alternate ID. The preferred alternate ID is made up of first name, middle initial, last name - all lower case without any spaces. For example, John Carter Smith's alternate ID would be 'johncsmith'. To make sure this alternate ID is not already taken by another learner, click on the "check availability" button before continuing. (See graphic below)

Q: One of my employees forgot their password for their personalized e-learning campus on ePath. What can I do?

A: There is a link on the user's login screen that will allow a user to get a new password. However, in order for this process to be successful, the individual's login must be a valid email address. If not, the manager will need to edit the learner's account in the Learner Management screen (accessed through the administrative login) and reset the learner's password. If you prefer live assistance, contact the e-Learning Support team at (860) 444-6989 Option 4.

Q: Can I hire, fire or promote an employee based on e-learning test results?

A: All e-learning programs are used solely for the purpose of employee skill development.  The results of any module’s assessment may in no way be used in the determination of hiring new employees or promoting existing employees.  The US Department of Labor has issued specific guidelines related to employment assessment testing.

Q: How much does e-learning cost my property?

A: At this time, your property will not be billed for your e-learning usage and there currently are no plans to charge your budget in the future. All costs are absorbed by the corporate e-learning department. Take advantage of LKQU's complimentary "all you can learn" on-line buffet!

Q: Do I need to have a computer dedicated to e-learning at my property?

A: It is required that you provide a computer(s) that employees can use to access and interact with the e-learning programs. The computer(s) must be able to view, hear and interact with the multimedia found within the e-learning programs.  In other words, the computer must have the right software (including the latest Adobe Flash Player – which is a free software program), and the right hardware (including a keyboard, mouse and speakers).  Neo computers which are typically found at Keystone locations, are unable to view and interact with e-learning courses properly.  If you property does not have a computer that meets the qualifications, then contact the IT department (either Keystone or LKQ) to obtain assistance with acquiring an appropriate computer.
